Magazine: Electroage (1999)
From all the huge European synth-pop scene, elegant MACHINERY is certainly one's of the most prolific act (personally my favorite).
Released in 1996 (re-released last year on A Different Drum for US consumption), Yesterday Man is not only one of my favorite synth-pop album, but one of my favorite album of all-time. Songs like Save Me (a classic!) or Say Goodbye shows the "catchy" ability of eM. Feel the violence is a "dark" beautiful piece with quite interesting lyrics and shows the great vocal capacity of Robert Enforsen. Fading Away (another classic!) is the perfect "nostalgia" piece getting yourself directly into the 80's. One of my favorite, Pantomime, is a pure and addictive synth-pop song with the greatest refrain. Love to cry shows again the great vocal capacity of Mr. Enforsen... simply addictive.
Finally, I wrote this review for a specific reason; as you certainly know, the band just splits up after ten years of great music... Long live to elegant MACHINERY! Highly Recommended.
Final man
